This is so beautiful and so ripe with wisdom I find myself wanting to pick it from the vine and devour it. You are a beautiful soul my dear friend. Thank you for being so bold as to share your wisdom and wonder with all of us.
I needed this today, on a cold, bright fall morning here in the mountains. I especially liked this sentence and have saved it to help me get through days that seem impossible.
“To consider less what is happening in the world of circumstances and to consider more what is happening in the world of my soul, and where I may have left a window open for chaos to slip in.”
Chris, beautiful thoughts and perspective. What a great read to start today.
Several thoughts resonate deeply in me:
Thinking less about the past, more about today, and almost not at all about the future - healthy
Balancing turning outward (into the chaos) with turning inward (soul care)
And wait and participate
Several years ago, amidst several waves of chaos, I heard the song While I’m Waiting by John Waller. The song created a clear framework of obedience, service and worship (participation) while I waited for God’s path forward to become more clear. I recommend it to all, especially those mired in the chaos
